Things to consider when you are organising suits for a large party of 8 or more groomsmen.
Book your initial appointment in good time before your wedding date. We would suggest 6-9 months before is ideal for suits for a large party.
Things to consider and bring to this appointment:
Key colours of the wedding
Wedding theme - are you are having a festival theme or vintage theme for example.
The wedding dress will have a big impact on the style of suit the groom chooses. Share a photo with your consultant and they can help make sure the suit compliments the dress.
Inspirational grooms wear outfits - have a look at our photo gallery at outfits that you like and, equally important, dislike.
Do you want to highlight key members of your large party of groomsmen?
It is essential that the groom stands out from the pack and his suit is clearly elevated compared to the rest. Bridesmaid's colours do not need to be used, the bride's dress will not match to anyone else.
It is a nice gesture to include the fathers in with the groom's party but they often like to have some differentiation to the rest. Matching outfits or simply their own coordinating ties and pocket squares could be enough to tie everyone together.
Best men can be matching with the rest of the groom's party or can be a hybrid of the groom and groomsmen outfits if you wish to accentuate him more then the rest.
When there is a large number in the party, it is nice to break up the look and highlight key members.
The finer details
Spread the cost - We offer the the option of 3-5 payments with no additional fees. This can be spread across 5 or more months with final payment received 1 month before suit collection date.
With a large party it may be difficult to organise fittings for all members of your party. We do prefer that everyone comes in for their fitting but if this is not a viable, alternative options are available. Book your fittings for 6 weeks before the collection date. We can accommodate a maximum of 4 people per appointment. Do organise these series of appointments to ensure there is no last minute panic.
Fittings need to be booked for 6 weeks before the wedding date if hiring suits and 12-16 weeks if you are purchasing. This ensures availability and if you are purchasing, we have time to organise any alternations you may require.
Don't delay, book you appointment at Chimney Formal Menswear today and let your consultant help you find the prefect wedding outfit for you and your groomsmen.
